A therapeutic (or healing) story gently guides the reader to find new ways of coping and resolving a problem, while helping
them feel less alone with their situation.
Therapeutic stories are ones which help people tackle a problem, or see things in a new light. By stepping outside of
the actual situation that is troubling us, and using a metaphor or a story that represents the situation, we can often understand
more deeply and see possible solutions more easily and clearly.
I am a qualified Social Worker with years of experience working with children and adults in a counselling role. I can
create an individually written and illustrated therapeutic story to suit the particular needs and interests of a child or
adult.
Every story is created around the reader's areas of interest - whether it's motorbikes, dragons, or fairies! Discussion
questions can be included to guide you if you wish. Each story is illustrated and can be provided in either electronic or
printed form.
Prices:
- Hard copy book, including postage within Australia, $85 AUD
- PDF only $75 AUD
A tailor-made story to assist your child, yourself or someone you care about is a beautiful gift! Read through the story
with your child and discuss the possibilities for change that emerge.

Sample excerpt..........
Alex was very excited. He was panning for gold in the little river at the bottom of the hill and as he swilled the gritty
water around, he saw something shining.
A fleck of gold! He lifted it carefully out of the pan and into a jar sitting on the ground beside him.
He had quite a collection now. In this river he'd found tiny pieces of tin and even some gems, and now what looked like
gold. He didn't mind if it wasn't real gold, it could be fool's gold, but it was just as exciting.
He was getting hungry, it was late in the day, so he decided to pack up his things and head back up the hill to his home.
As he drew near, he could smell tea cooking, and he walked into the warm kitchen through the back door.
His Mum smiled at him and he showed her the jar with little specks and lumps shining on the bottom.
He took the jar to his bedroom and placed it on the shelf, ready to be sorted out later.
Up on Alex's wall was a wooden display box, covered by glass. This was the box he kept his really precious things in.
Alex looked at the box carefully, admiring the precious stones on display. He had collected most of them himself. Some had
been given to him by friends or family.
The box was almost full, he had one space left, right in the middle.........
